Question: Do you provide discounts if I am registering more than one child?

Yes.

Question: Does the Registration Fee cover all costs associated with participating?

Answer:

No: LYF “leases” a helmet, shoulder pads, pants, pant pads and a belt. Each player will be provided a game jersey that is theirs to keep.

Players must provide their own shoes – cleats – as well as oral protection, i.e. mouth piece / mouth guard.

Question: What are some of the optional fees that need to be taken into consideration?

Answer:

There are numerous opportunities to spend additional money in order for your child to participate in the the UCFC. In some instances they are associated with your child’s team: professional quality DVD’s of each game ($8-10 / game), last names printed on the back of jersey’s ($5.00 – $10.00), team socks ($3.00 – $5.00); while some of them are unique to the player: extra protective gear, i.e. gloves ($20.00 – $50.00), elbow & arm pads ($15.00 – $20.00), rib protection ($25.00 – $75.00), neck and head protection ($30.00 – $60.00), etc.

Additionally, there are training camps in the late Spring and early Summer that are provided by the District as well as Lehi High School. These two camps combined typically cost around $75.00.

It’s important to understand, that for many, football requires a substantial financial commitment. That being said, a family should never feel obligated to pay for any of the items mentioned above.

Question: Does everyone on the team get to play in each game?

Answer:

Yes: The UCFC mandates a minimum 10 play rule for each player. This rule is enforced during each game with a ‘Field Coordinator’ checking tracking sheets at half-time. Any coach who willfully disregards this rule is subject to District and Conference sanctions, up to and including forfeiture of their coaching position for the remainder of the season.

Note: If a child misses a mandatory scheduled practice during the week then the coach is not obligated to play that child their 10 plays during their next game.
