Mandatory Weigh-in Saturday, August 20

Location: Lehi High School
Time: 9:00 to 12:00
When: Saturday August 20, 2011

Article V of the  Utah County Football Conference Bylaws states that each district is required to weigh every player under the direction of a Conference representative. This weigh-in is to ensure that players who exceed mandated weight limit’s (see below) be properly identified across the Conference to ensure that they do not line-up in positions where they are eligible to carry the ball during an offensive play.   Players who exceed the weight limit for their grade are designated an X-Man for the season; i.e. must play on the interior line – Tackle, Guard, Center.  (Note:  There are no restrictions where a player can line-up on Defense)

If a player does not attend an official weigh-in* that player will automatically be designated an X-man – regardless of weight – and thus be ineligible to advance the ball during the season. (Note: if a player picks up a fumbled ball and / or intercepts or catches a batted ball they can advance the ball under normal game rules.)

WHAT TO BRING: If this is your child’s first year playing with us or if you have not already done so, you need to bring a photo copy of your child’s birth certificate to leave with us.  If your child has played with us in the past and you have already submitted a copy of his birth certificate you do not need to bring another one.

*There will be a league-wide make-up day (for all districts) on August 13 at Pleasant Grove High School from 9:00 to 11:00.

Weight Limits:

  • 1st / 2nd grade – 75lbs
  • 3rd grade – 85 lbs
  • 4th grade – 95 lbs
  • 5th grade – 105 lbs
  • 6th grade – 120 lbs
  • 7th grade – 135lbs
  • 8th grade – 165 lbs

Your child must be one oz under the weight limit. For example: 105 lbs is the 5th grade limit. The child must weigh 104.9 lbs. If they weigh 105.0 lbs they are an X-man.

Physicals: Each child also needs to have had a physical within the last six months in order to play. Your physician has the form that needs to be turned in to your child’s coach prior to the first game. (Note: The form used by the Boy Scouts of America is acceptable.)
